XtreemStore and BeeGFS Combine Scalability, Performance, and User-Friendliness for HPC, AI, and Big Data

GRAU DATA, provider of the object storage solution XtreemStore, and ThinkParQ, the provider of the parallel file system for high-performance and AI environments BeeGFS, have entered into a strategic partnership. The goal of this cooperation is to provide organizations with a seamlessly integrated, highly scalable, and high-performance storage infrastructure that meets the growing demands of very high data workloads.

The integration of XtreemStore and BeeGFS creates unique synergies: BeeGFS ensures parallel, high-performance data access, while XtreemStore uses intelligent tiering to place active data on fast media and inactive data on cost-effective tape archives. With the latest data migration interface, in BeeGFS, the combination enables a scalable infrastructure that keeps pace with growing data volumes, as well as automated migration between BeeGFS clusters, cloud storage, and archives. It also supports hybrid and multi-cloud scenarios and leads to significant cost savings through optimal use of storage resources.

XtreemStore is an S3-compatible object storage software for tape storage that combines modern cloud interfaces with energy-efficient tape technology, thereby enabling cost-effective large-scale long-term archiving. The solution can efficiently manage billions of objects and relies on a distributed architecture that enables horizontal scaling without compromising fault tolerance. With a native S3 Glacier interface and comprehensive REST API capabilities, it offers simplified tape management via web GUI and CLI, with optimal total cost of ownership (TCO) and in compliance with the strictest regulatory requirements.

BeeGFS by ThinkParQ

BeeGFS is a parallel file system developed for high-performance computing (HPC), AI training, and big data analytics. As a German developed product, it not only offers extremely high performance through parallelized data access with bandwidths of hundreds of gigabytes per second and millions of IOPS but also maximum sovereignty. Companies retain full control over their data, without dependence on non-European cloud providers or proprietary solutions, thus meeting European compliance and regulations. The system is designed for exascale environments, supports thousands of nodes and exabyte storage capacities, and impresses with high availability thanks to redundant metadata and storage servers.
